An article in the February 2021 edition of the Journal of Osteopathic Medicine has drawn an interesting conclusion. The recently published research suggests that there’s a unique connection between COVID-19 and scent detection dogs.
Dogs trained scent detection have saved countless lives over the years. In fact, many individuals with life-threatening allergies rely on their service animal’s ability to sniff out gluten and other allergens. Now, thanks to a recent study publishing in the Journal of Osteopathic Medicine and distributed by the American Osteopathic Association, findings have uncovered that scent detection dogs can be utilized to identify individuals infected with COVID-19.
Sam Fillingane, DO applauds this incredible finding. In his professional opinion, this development could be life-saving for COVID-infected individuals who present as asymptomatic.
